SMARTTONE COLLABORATES WITH RESISTANCE INSTITUTE TO LAUNCH ITS NEW NEXA MEDICAL SOFTWARE
Smarttone is now collaborating with Resistance Institute to launch its new NEXA MEDICAL software, an essential tool for centres specializing in rehabilitation, physical reconditioning, physiotherapy, high performance sports clubs and universities studying strength.
NEXA MEDICAL is a great leap towards accelerating injury rehabilitation. For the first time, a software is on the market where each parameter that intervenes in the recovery phase in an isolated and independent manner is available to physicians, storing data on performance, range and progression of each injury. These data are the key to accelerating the patient’s rehabilitation process. Furthermore, it offers different methods to carry out the prescribed exercises for reconditioning the injury combined in the same software, something unprecedented to date.
Among the different functionalities available with NEXA MEDICAL, we can highlight:
INTELLIGENT STRENGTH CURVE
Each exercise has its own controlled strength curve created, which can be constantly improved through the NEXA MEDICAL software with the possibility of developing different strength maps for each type of exercise. Welcome to the biomechanics of the future.
INERTIA-FREE LOAD
The motorized load is virtually inertia-free, so it is not affected by acceleration peaks as with free weight, discs or any load that comes from the weight of objects.
PERSONALIZED ECCENTRIC LOAD
One of the most important advances that NEXA MEDICAL allows is the possibility to choose how much weight is used in the eccentric phase (a phase where the muscles are usually 40% stronger in relation to the concentric phase). NEXA MEDICAL independently allows this increase by programming said weight before starting the exercise.
ISOKINETIC MODE (ADAPTIVE RESISTANCE)
This mode enables an established speed to be selected instead of a variable load. Against this we offer the resistance that we consider appropriate or as prescribed by a physician.
This possibility offers a new kind of overload called ADPATIVE RESISTANCE.
The software is designed to compare strength curves and the evolution of each person, who competes with themselves to improve eccentric and concentric strength, average strength and fatigue. Users can select a series per time, reps or fatigue, and every time an exercise is completed, the user competes with the prior curves to compare them.
TIME-STATIC AND MEASURING STRENGTH
Training at a variable speed allows users to select a 0 speed, that is, determine a specific position in the range and leave it static in that position. This type of exercise mode allows users to train the muscles in an isometric-reactive way (time-static) and measure the applied strength. As a result, this kind of exercise allows users to:
- Measure maximum strength in a position, save the data and compare it.
- Carry out isometric-reactive workouts and compare the improvement in average and maximum strength in the stipulated time range or work out until a certain percentage of fatigue is reached.
- Delve into therapeutic strength work and rehabilitation of injuries by being able to measure and apply strength progressively and in specific positions in an isometric way without the potential risks of joint movement for certain pathologies or inflammatory states.
